Nurse Quality
We were not able to award this facility any respectable grades. We especially wanted to point out that it received an F for its nursing grade. Our nursing rating includes numerous subcategories. The most important one is the amount of time nurses spend with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing scores. This facility fared well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these datapoints to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
We also wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's rock-bottom short-term care score where it was given a lowly F. Our short-term care scores are critical for prospective residents seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires more skilled nursing. This includes a wide scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Given its score in this category, we weren't stunned to discover that this nursing home is well below average in terms of its quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours provided to its residents based on the measures we looked at. Honestly, this was about what we expected here. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 4.5 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to point out this facility's inspection grade where it received a lowly F. When a facility has this bad of an inspection grade, you should look for severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to patient safety. This particular nursing home had 4 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they posed a risk to patient safety or health. Lastly, we would like to point out that this facility was assessed large government fines in recent years totaling more than $100,000. This usually indicates that a poor track record has been an issue for more than one year.
Long-term Care Quality
The final area we assessed was long-term care. We gave it an F in this category, which is an abysmal grade. When facilities receive a grade in this range in this category it typically means the facility did not perform well in our quality measures relating to patient care. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This facility gave the vaccine to 64.54082 percent of its residents. This is significantly less than what we expected. Surprisingly, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
