Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
While we gave this nursing home a terrible overall score, we gave it a grade of C for our nursing rating. There are numerous subcategories included in this area. Most of the datapoints reflect the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This facility provides only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is a somewhat uninspiring figure as it is well below average. Lastly, we also looked at several nursing quality-based metrics. While this facility got docked a bit for nursing hours, it actually excelled in some of these quality-based measures. With less than five percent of its patients sustaining pressure ulcers, it did remarkably well in this area. This is often an indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as by having a protocol of turning residents more frequently.
Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to the area of short-term care, this facility received a grade of just D in that category. As it turns out, this ended up being one of its better grades. In our short-term care grade, we endeavor to create a sound measure for rehabilitation services. In this process, we analyze a facility's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Based on its poor score in this area, we weren't stunned to learn that this nursing home provides significantly fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most nursing homes. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.2 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was well off the national average.

Facility Inspections
We also wanted to draw your attention to this nursing home's inspection grades where it received an F. This generally means we found some red flags on the inspection reports. When a place has this bad of an inspection score, you should expect some severe deficiencies on its inspection report. Severe deficiencies indicate a risk to resident safety. This facility was assessed 6 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we found is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they posed a risk to patient safety or health. Finally, we also want to point out that this place received significant government fines recently amounting to more than $100,000. This usually indicates that a nursing home's poor track record has been an issue for several years.
Long-term Care Quality
Moving on to our last category, this facility really didn't fare very well here either. With a poor grade of F in long-term care, this is about as as uninspiring as it gets. Facilities that do not fare well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be lagging in a few of the areas of routine medical care we looked at. After we finished assessing the quantity of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination records. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated only 79.58656 percent of its residents against pneumonia. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
