On top of earning a strong overall grade, this nursing home fared even better in the area of inspections which is associated with the nursing home's recent government inspection reports. We awarded it an A for this area, which is one of our highest scores. These inspection scores weigh several factors, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. Although this place had a few deficiencies on its inspection report, none were severe based on CMS' scale. The fact that the deficiencies were relatively minor leaves us less concerned with this inspection report.

Adding to this nursing home's list of strengths, it also received an excellent nursing grade. We awarded them an impressive grade of A- in this category. Our nursing grade is mostly based on the nursing home's nurse staffing. With 4.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily, this facility surpassed the vast majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this place also performed well in several of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In terms of the number of its patients suffering falls which lead to serious injury, this nursing home performed as well as any facility in the nation.

This nursing home is also strong in the area of long-term care, where it was awarded a grade of B+. It outperformed most facilities in this category. For prospective patients in need of a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is a very important category. This facility's vaccination records lagged a bit behind a few of its other statistics in this area, such as its number of nursing hours per resident. It provided the pneumonia vaccine to just 84.26556 percent of its patients. We'd love to see some improvement herein this statistic next year. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, at least this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.69 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this nursing home had less hospitalizations than many nursing homes.

Historical

The last category we graded was short-term care. We awarded this nursing home one of our better grades in this area, with a B. This nursing home turned out to be very solid in each area we assessed. In calculating our short-term care scores, we quantify the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our purpose is to formulate a tool for comparing the rehabilitation services of different nursing homes. This nursing home excelled in the two key staffing areas we looked at. The facility supplied more care from physical therapists and registered nurses than the typical nursing home. This is usually an excellent sign. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 44.6 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
