Short-term Care Quality
The third category we graded was short-term care. In that area, we gave this facility a B-. Our short-term care grades are based on the facility's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a broad scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we considered the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 5.4 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.
Nurse Quality
Switching gears to the final category, this facility was given a decent nursing score of C. Our nursing grade assesses many factors, most of which are associated with levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most facilities. Finally, while this place did not rank well in terms of nursing hours per resident, it fared much better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at.
