In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with higher scores in this category typically avoided the more severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. We weren't able to track down information on deficiency's for this nursing home. Without having the deficiency related data for this nursing home, it ended up being challenging to evaluate it in the inspections category.

Adding to its strong performance in other areas, we awarded this facility a grade of B+ for our nursing rating. Nursing scores are based in large part on quantity of nursing care available. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this facility excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the country in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can often be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as having a system of turning residents more frequently.

The next category we looked at was short-term care. This nursing home received an impressive short-term care grade, with a B in the category. Short-term care grades are typically employed to judge a facility's rehabilitation services To have highly scored rehabilitation services, facilities generally must have higher levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly trained professionals. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we assessed the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 4.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

The final category we graded was long-term care. This nursing home was awarded a strong long-term care grade in our assessment, with a C. Although this isn't as impressive as several of its other scores, this is still an acceptable score for that category. Our long-term care scores are more critical for patients requiring more conventional assistance associated with personal care. After considering the amount of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated only 72.53886 percent of its patients against pneumonia. On a more positive note, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
