Facility Inspections
We really couldn't find anything good to say about this nursing home. It received a D in the category of inspections. Sadly, this turned out to be its best grade. One of the most significant factors in assessing inspection reports is deficiencies. We would scrutinize the level of severity of those deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 10 deficiencies by CMS. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they posed a threat to patient safety or health. Finally, CMS flagged this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. This is not what you want to see. We advise you to direct your search elsewhere.
Short-term Care Quality
This nursing home ended up receiving a an abysmal score in our short-term care category. It was given an F in this category. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we size up the nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This area is generally a useful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation. Not surprisingly, we learned that this place offers substantially less registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than a typical nursing home. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return home from this facility. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 5.1 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Long-term Care Quality
Our next category we graded was long-term care, where this nursing home received an F. In a long-term care environment, the primary objective is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we assessed the volume of nursing care, we turned to the facility's vaccination record. We were optimistic to learn that this facility vaccinates 99.625465 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
Nurse Quality
The final area we analyzed is nursing, in which this nursing home received a very poor grade in this category as well. Sadly, it received an F in this area, which is obviously a major disappointment. There are numerous subcategories within this category. Many of the subcategories relate to the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This nursing home offered just 0.1 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is not a very impressive figure. On top of receiving below average scores for total nursing hours, this nursing home was a bit less impressive in some of the quality-based measures we looked at in determining our nursing grades. We looked at the percentage of residents experiencing pressure ulcers and found that this nursing home was at roughly 150 percent of the national average in this statistic. This is a bad sign when you consider that so many bed sores are preventable with better nursing care. This statistic really pulled down this nursing home's nursing score substantially.
