Facility Inspections

Grade: B-minus

While we did not rate this nursing home well overall, we wanted to note its decent inspection reports in recent years. We awarded it a somewhat respectable score of B- in this category. We would argue that one of the most important factors in evaluating an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially look at the severity of the deficiencies. This particular nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report. We are also concerned by the fact that this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-minus

This nursing home actually received a decent grade in the area of nursing as well. We awarded it a grade of B- for that category, which is not a bad score. Our nursing rating focuses on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. We look at both the levels of training of the nurses and the quantity of hours spent with patients. This facility provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this place fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we looked at. In fact, it scored well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

This nursing home's third most favorable area ended up being short-term care. In that area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of B-. In the area of short-term care, we endeavor to qualify indicators of a facility's rehabilitation. We look at a nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. We were surprised to find that this nursing home was below average in the two key staffing areas we looked at. The facility offered fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most other nursing homes. It is important to determine whether this is adversely impacting the quality of care. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this facility's residents returned home. At most facilities, closer to half of their patients are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The next area we assessed is long-term care. This nursing home was awarded a B- in this category. If you are seeking services other than rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care scores. In addition to assessing the volume of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 98.59155 percent of its residents. This nursing home also excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
