Facility Inspections

Grade: A-minus

To go along with its strong overall grade, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A- for our inspections rating. Inspection grades are based on many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that receive favorable grades in this area typically have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G through L. This means the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing score. In fact, we gave it an B+ in that area. Nursing ratings are primarily based on a facility's level of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The third area we analyzed is short-term care. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a solid grade of B-. Short-term care scores are based on the nursing home's quantity of skilled skilled healthcare professionals. This includes a wide spectrum of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents that returned home from this nursing home. We found that 3.9 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home. This figure was actually quite a bit below the national average.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-minus

The final category we graded was long-term care. We awarded it a B- in that area. This is basically a middle of the road grade in this category. For prospective residents in need of a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. After we finished assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses, we next considered the nursing home's vaccination record. We were pleased to find that this nursing home vaccinated 99.76191 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Finally, this facility was also able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
