Although we did not rate this place favorably overall, we want to point out its relatively solid government inspections in recent years. We gave it a respectable grade of B in this area, which was much better than its overall grade. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in calculating these inspection ratings. One critical factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively insignificant. This place was hit with 4 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to pose an immediate risk to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not necessarily the end of the world.

We also awarded this facility a grade of C for our nursing rating. Our nursing rating is largely associated with the facility's level of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient per day. This figure is far below average. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this facility actually fared better in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

The third area we analyzed is long-term care. In that area, we gave this facility a solid grade of C. In calculating these long-term care scores, we assess the nursing home's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. One of the factors we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to only 79.20228 percent of its patients. Nevertheless, this facility was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

The last category we rated is short-term care. This facility received a rock bottom grade of F in this area. Our short-term care scores are based on a nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a wide scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, not to mention other types of therapy. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
