Although we graded this nursing home incredibly poorly overall, it received a somewhat respectable nursing grade this year. We gave it a C in this category. Our nursing score includes several datapoints, but the most important one is the quantity of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home averages just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low figure. Despite having low quantities of nursing care, this nursing home excelled in some of the quality-based metrics we assessed. In fact, it scored well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

As it turns out, this facility only received a grade of D for its short-term care score, which happens to be one of its more respectable category scores. Our short-term care ratings are vital for people seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing means a vast scope of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Given its weak grade in this area, we were not surprised to learn that this nursing home provided far fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most nursing homes. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that just 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

For places that received this bad of an inspection rating, we recommend scrutinizing any severe deficiencies on its inspection report. This facility was hit with 6 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only positive thing we found is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they created a threat to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.

Candidly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 52.58856 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
