Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A

On top of receiving a strong overall score, this facility also received an elite long-term care rating. We awarded them one of our better scores in that category, with an impressive grade of A. Nursing homes that receive this type of score in long-term care typically provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure residents are kept in good health. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its residents, which is much higher than the average nursing home. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

In addition, this nursing home also excelled in inspections, where it received an B+. Few nursing homes performed better in this category. Perhaps the most significant factor we consider in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category typically avoided the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the government inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Another one of this facility's impressive category grades came in the area of nursing care. We awarded them one of our better scores in that area, with a grade of B+. Our nursing score analyzes a handful of subcategories, many of which are tied to levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed very well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

The next area we looked at is short-term care. We awarded this facility one of our more favorable scores in that category, with a grade of B. This nursing home proved to be strong in each category we looked at. Our short-term care grades are believed to be most critical for people in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates additional highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing services, but also physical and speech therapy, as well as other types of therapy. We were not able to locate information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
