On top of being a quality facility overall, this place really excelled in the area of inspections, where it earned an A. Few facilities fared better in this category. Inspection scores are based on many pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes that excel in this area have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

This nursing home is also above average in the category of long-term care, where it received a score of B+. It performed better than most facilities in this category. Nursing homes that do well in this category typically provide residents with more supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. In addition to considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home vaccinated 100 percent of its patients. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients healthy. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. It had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

This facility is also strong in the category of short-term care, where it received a score of B. It outperformed most facilities in this area. Short-term care grades are generally used to gauge a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation In order to have highly graded rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to offer better levels of highly skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, respiratory therapists and other highly skilled individuals. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The final measure we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to return home from the facility.
