Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. Inspection ratings weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. This nursing home received 6 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered severe. This indicates that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies aren't the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility also didn't perform terribly in the category of long-term care. In fact, we gave it a C in that area, which is among its more respectable scores. In a long-term care setting, the nursing home's primary objective is to keep patients as healthy and safe as possible. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate residents. One of the statistics we considered after nursing hours was vaccinations. Thankfully, this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccination to 97.402596 percent of its residents. This nursing home also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.03 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.

Short-term Care Quality
Another unfortunate development is the F this facility received in the area of short-term care. Short-term care grades are typically used to score a facility's performance with rehabilitation To have quality rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to have better levels of highly skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other licensed professionals. Not surprisingly, we found that this nursing home provides far less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than the average facility. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents that ultimately returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
The final area we rated is nursing. Unfortunately, we gave it a lowly F for this area, which is a bottom of the barrel score. The nursing rating weighs several data points, many of which are tied to nursing hours. This nursing home averaged only 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in calculating our nursing grades. This place performed well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these data points to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
