Facility Inspections

Grade: B-plus

We would like to point out that this nursing home's inspection grade exceeded its overall score. This facility earned a B+ in this category, which is a quality score. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Nursing homes with better scores in this category most likely dodged the most severe deficiencies involving things like patient abuse. While this facility had some deficiencies on its inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' scale. The fact that none of the deficiencies were severe made us feel better about this inspection report.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B

Additionally, we also would like to note that this nursing home was awarded impressive short-term care marks this year. We awarded them one of our more impressive scores in this area, with a B. This turned out to be the nursing home's second highest score. Our short-term care scores are believed to be more critical for individuals in need of a nursing home for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires more highly-skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes not just nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, we weren't able to track down information on registered nurse or physical therapy staffing for this nursing home. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 5.3 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B

We also awarded this facility a favorable grade in nursing. This facility earned a grade of B in this category, which is one of our better grades. There are many subcategories within this area. Most of the datapoints reflect the quantity and quality of nurse staffing. This particular nursing home provided 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility the nation in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can many times be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as having a policy of moving a patient at least once a day.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: D

The final area we graded is long-term care, which ended up being this nursing home's worst area. We gave this nursing home a grade of D in that category. Naturally, this score hurt the facility's overall grade a bit. Facilities that do not score well in this category often do not provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine medical care we assessed. Once we assessed the quantity of nursing care, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. Frankly, we were a bit concerned this facility vaccinated only 50.357143 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
