In addition to earning a great overall rating, this facility fared even better in the area of inspections which is based on the nursing home's recent government inspections. We gave it an A for that area, which is one of our highest scores. Inspection scores account for a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. Places with better grades in this area typically have very few of these severe deficiencies. This nursing home received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none of the deficiencies were considered to be severe. This indicates that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies to create an imminent risk to patient safety or health. A few minor dings aren't the end of the world.

This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last metric we considered in this area is the number of residents who were able to return home from the facility. To our surprise, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility had fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes. Unfortunately, some of its other scores in this category weren't as favorable as these.
