Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

In addition to faring well overall, this facility earned a nearly flawless inspection report. As a result, it earned one of our best grades in that category with an A+. Inspection grades are based on many pieces of information located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities that score well in this category tend to have very few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these facilities should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to note the fact that this facility performed well in our short-term care category. We gave them an exemplary score of A+ in this category. In forming our short-term care grades, we look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapists and other types of therapists. The objective is to devise a tool for sizing up the rehabilitation services of various facilities. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 6 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.

Among its many impressive grades, this facility received an excellent nursing grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A in that category. We weighed the skill-level of nurses at the nursing home, as well as the quantity of time the nurses worked with patients, in determining our score in this area. This facility provided 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can many times be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
