Nurse Quality
While we didn't give this nursing home a good overall grade, we did give it a very strong grade in nursing, where it received a B+. When calculating a facility's nursing rating, we assess the amount of time nurses are with residents and the level of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
In addition, we also would like to point out that this nursing home was given positive short-term care marks this year. We awarded them one of our more impressive scores in this area, with a B. This proved to be the nursing home's second highest grade. Our short-term care grades are based in part on the facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a wide range of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other types of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last statistic we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents that ultimately were able to return home from the facility. We found that 4.2 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.

Facility Inspections
This place received an F for its inspection grade. This is a particularly important category. Grades in this range often point to some red flags on the facility's inspections. For facilities with bad inspection ratings, you should scrutinize any severe deficiencies found on their inspection reports. This particular facility was hit with one category J through K deficiency, which rank among the worst deficiencies. These categories mean that inspectors found a deficiency which puts patient safety or health in imminent danger. Lastly, we need to draw your attention to the fact that this nursing home was assessed large government fines amounting to more than $100,000. This often indicates that a facility's bad track record spanned several years.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to our fourth area, this nursing home didn't perform very well in this category either. With a poor grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as as uninspiring as it gets. Nursing homes that don't fare well in this category often don't provide as much nursing care and also may be struggling in a few of the areas of routine medical care we looked at. After looking at the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated 87.83784 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is quite a bit less than what we were hoping for. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This was its best score in this category.
