This nursing home received a strong overall score as described above, but we especially want to point out its excellent health inspections in recent years. We gave it an A- in this category. Arguably the most significant factor we look at in calculating our inspection ratings is deficiencies. Deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Facilities with better grades in this category most likely dodged the more severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. This place received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to cause an immediate threat to patient health or safety. A few relatively minor deficiencies are not something to panic about.

Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This facility performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a place has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Turning to another strength for this nursing home, we gave them one of our higher scores in our long-term care category as well, with a B. When facilities receive a grade in this range in long-term care it typically means it has plenty of staff and is a quality place to live on a permanent basis. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses aids and other staff, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This nursing home vaccinated 97.169815 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is much higher than the vast majority of nursing homes. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
