Facility Inspections
To go along with a favorable overall grade, we awarded this place an A+ for our inspections rating. Inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
Adding to its first-rate achievements in other areas, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for its short-term care grade. Our short-term care grades are important for prospective residents in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually requires higher levels of skilled nursing services. This includes a wide spectrum of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all nursing homes employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of residents that ultimately returned home from this facility. We found that 5.8 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.

Nurse Quality
Adding to its impressive resume, this nursing home also excelled in our nursing category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- for that category. In determining a nursing home's nursing score, we weigh the amount of time nurses spend with residents and the levels of training of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also looked at several nursing quality measures and this place excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any nursing home Ohio in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be avoided by offering better nursing care, such as by employing a policy of turning patients more frequently.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we rated was long-term care. This nursing home received a better than average nursing grade this year, with a grade of B. While this isn't quite as impressive as some of its other category grades, this is still one of our more favorable grades in this area. Nursing homes that do well in long-term care typically provide patients with better supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. Once we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then looked at the facility's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 99.33775 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is an impressive figure. Pneumonia can be a dangerous condition for nursing home residents so we like it when a nursing home doesn't leave its residents vulnerable. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had only 0 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low figure.
