Facility Inspections

Although we gave this facility a bad overall grade, we awarded it a fairly respectable grade in the category of inspections, where we gave it a grade of B-. This was certainly better than its other categories. These inspection ratings take several factors into consideration, including deficiencies and substantiated complaints. You can learn more about each of these factors by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. It does not look like we were able to find deficiency data for this nursing home. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.

Nurse Quality

Historical

We also awarded this facility a grade of B- for our nursing rating. When calculating a nursing home's nursing rating, we look at the number of hours nurses are seeing residents and the skill levels of those nurses. Based on the data, it looks like this place provides an impressive 4.3 hours per patient daily. This is more nursing care than most facilities provide. In calculating our grades, we apply more weight to hours performed by more highly trained nurses such as registered or licensed nurses. Finally, we also assessed a few nursing quality-based metrics and this facility excelled in some of these subcategories. With less than five percent of its patients suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed well in this area. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can generally be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as having a policy of moving residents even once per day.

Short-term Care Quality

Historical

The third best area we gave this nursing home in any category came in the category of short-term care, where we gave it a grade of B-. Our short-term care ratings are important for individuals in need of rehabilitation. Rehabilitation usually mandates more skilled nursing. Skilled nursing includes a wide range of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and occupational therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Unfortunately, we found that this facility provided fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most nursing homes, closer to half of their residents are able to return home so this figure is below average.

Long-term Care Quality

B-
Jan 20: A-Mar 20: A-Apr 20: A+May 20: B-Jun 20: B-Jul 20: B-Aug 20: B-
Historical

The last area we scored was long-term care. In this category, we gave this nursing home a B-. In the area of long-term care, we focus on the amount of services offered by a facility, as opposed to more medically-intensive services. One of the criteria we considered on top of nurse's aid hours is vaccines. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 100 percent of its patients. This place keeps its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
