Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
Although we gave this facility an abysmal overall grade, we awarded it a B- for our nursing rating. In calculating our nursing ratings, we factor in both staffing levels and the skill levels of the nurses. This place averages 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident each day, which is not an impressive total. Lastly, our nursing ratings also consider quality-based measures, such as avoiding major falls. Despite not having the most impressive total nursing hours, this place actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is typically a good indicator that a nursing home has sufficient quality controls in place. Some falls could be avoided if a facility provides enough nurses aids to assist its residents.
Short-term Care Quality
Surprisingly, we gave this facility a grade of C for its short-term care rating, which is not a bad grade. In determining our short-term care ratings, we analyze a nursing home's levels of highly skilled nursing services, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly skilled individuals. This score is considered to be a solid measure of the nursing home's rehabilitation. In this facility's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than the typical facility. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients that eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 4.9 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit below average.

Facility Inspections
Among this nursing home's worst category grades was an F for its inspection grade. Generally, this indicates we found red flags on the facility's inspections. For facilities with bad inspection scores, you should really scrutinize any severe deficiencies found on their inspection reports. This nursing home had 3 deficiencies by CMS. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of these deficiencies were in the categories that suggest they caused a threat to resident safety or health. Finally, CMS cited this nursing home for possible abuse or neglect. Hopefully, its performance improves in the future, but until then we simply can't recommend this facility.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we rated was long-term care. This nursing home received a rock bottom grade of F in that area. For prospective patients seeking a permanent place to live as opposed to skilled nursing, long-term care is a very important category. After considering the amount of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. We were optimistic to discover that this nursing home vaccinated 97.38562 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Surprisingly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility had fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
