Facility Inspections
We also would like to emphasize that this nursing home has earned nearly flawless health inspections recently. We gave them an A in this area. Inspection grades account for several factors included in a nursing home's inspection reports. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the number and severity of deficiencies. Places with better grades in this category usually have very few severe deficiencies. Unfortunately, it does not look like we were able to find information about this nursing home's deficiencies. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Long-term Care Quality
To add to its high-end assessments in other areas, we gave this facility a grade of A- for its long-term care grade. In a long-term care environment, the facility's primary objective is to keep patients healthy and safe. This is different than skilled nursing or short-term care where the goal is to rehabilitate patients. On the whole this looks like a solid option in terms of its long-term care rating.

Nurse Quality
Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. There are a number of factors within this category. Most of the subcategories relate to staffing levels. This nursing home provides 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Short-term Care Quality
The last category we looked at was short-term care, in which this facility was awarded a grade of B. Even though this ended up being its worst category rating, this is nevertheless an above average score. Short-term care ratings are critical for patients seeking rehabilitation. Rehabilitation typically requires more skilled nursing. This means a broad range of nursing services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, as well as other forms of therapy. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this nursing home submitted data regarding its registered nurse or physical therapy staffing. Finally, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
