Facility Inspections
We want to point out that this nursing home outperformed its overall score in the area of inspections. In fact, it received a nearly flawless inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our highest grades in this area with an A. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these issues by obtaining copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. While this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are those found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A couple minor deficiencies shouldn't stop you from considering a nursing home.
Long-term Care Quality
We also gave this nursing home a middle of the road grade in the category of long-term care, where it received a grade of B-. Our long-term care grade assesses a facility's personal care instead of the highly skilled therapy and healthcare services that are critical to a skilled nursing facility. In addition to considering the quantity of care provided by aids and other staff, we analyzed the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. Thankfully, this nursing home provided the vaccine to 99.64158 percent of its residents, which is a very respectable total. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.05 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home.

Short-term Care Quality
The third area we looked at was short-term care. In that category, we awarded this nursing home a B-. Short-term care grades are based in part on a facility's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This means a vast spectrum of services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. One of this nursing home's strength is that it offers more hours of physical therapy per week to its residents. The last item we assessed in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. It performed well in this metric with 57.7 percent of its residents returning home. With most facilities, fewer than half of their short-term residents are able to return home.
Nurse Quality
Turning to the fourth area, we awarded this nursing home a grade of D for the area of nursing. This is the facility's worst category grade. In determining our nursing ratings, we factor in both staffing levels and the skill levels of the nurses. This nursing home provided only 2.8 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This place fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these metrics to be good measures of the quality of nursing care.
