Long-term Care Quality
This nursing home did not perform quite as poorly in long-term care. We awarded it a C for that category. For prospective patients seeking a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care grades are an important measure. After we finished assessing the amount of nursing care, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit worried that this nursing home vaccinated a relatively low 81.49606 percent of its patients for pneumonia. Nevertheless, this nursing home excelled at keeping its residents out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
Facility Inspections
Unfortunately, this nursing home didn't receive glowing government inspections in recent years. We gave it a grade of just D for our inspections rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest grade. Our inspection grades weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection report. Generally, you should be more cautious when considering a nursing home with severe deficiencies on its inspection reports. This nursing home was assessed 3 deficiencies by government inspectors. The only favorable thing we found is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that indicate they created a risk to resident safety or health. Finally, we need to point out that this facility received significant government fines recently of over $100,000. This often indicates that a poor track record has been an issue for multiple years.

Nurse Quality
This facility's next best category was nursing, but even there it received a grade of just D. This is still a well below average grade. Our nursing rating assesses quite a few subcategories, but the main consideration is the level of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing grades. This nursing home performed well in terms of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at is short-term care. This nursing home was given a rock bottom grade of F in this category. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to assess measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. Considering its grade in this area, we were not stunned to discover that this place was well below average in terms of its number of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its residents based on the data we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected here. The final datapoint we looked at in this area is the number of patients who ultimately were able to return home from the nursing home. This nursing home struggled quite a bit in this metric as well, with just 4.3 percent of its patients returning home.
