Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
We didn't have many favorable things to say about this nursing home's overall grade or its category grades. However, with just a D in this area, it still performed relatively badly. When determining our nursing scores, we assess both staffing levels and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a very low total compared to most nursing homes. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This nursing home performed well in the area of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. Many consider these datapoints to be measures of the quality of nursing care.
Facility Inspections
This nursing home didn't receive glowing inspections in recent years. We gave it just a D for our inspections rating and that actually was its second highest score. Inspection ratings weigh a host of factors included in a facility's inspection reports. Generally, you should be more cautious when considering a nursing home that has severe deficiencies on its inspection reports. This nursing home was assessed 4 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only favorable thing we can say is that none of the deficiencies were in the categories that suggest that they created a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We would not recommend this facility under any circumstance.

Long-term Care Quality
The third category we assessed is long-term care, where this facility received an F. Nursing homes that don't fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. One of the factors we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours was vaccinations. Candidly, we were a bit concerned this nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to a relatively low 71.31783 percent of its patients. To our surprise, this nursing home was actually decent at keeping its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had just 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This was its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed was short-term care. It received a lowly F for this area, which is a rock bottom score. In the category of short-term care, we seek to evaluate indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and physical, occupational and other therapists. With a score in this range for this category, we weren't stunned to find this facility was well below average in multiple staffing metrics we looked at. In fact, it offered substantially fewer physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than most other facilities. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. This definitely wasn't a strength for this nursing home. We found that just 2.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home. At most facilities, around half of their patients are able to return home so this is well below average.
