Facility Inspections
While we gave this nursing home a weak overall score, we awarded it a somewhat respectable grade in the category of inspections, where we gave it a B-. This was quite a bit better than its other categories. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in calculating these inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some deficiencies are relatively minor. While this place had some deficiencies on its government inspection report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Nurse Quality
We awarded this facility a respectable grade in the area of nursing as well, with a grade of B-. Nursing grades are mostly associated with a nursing home's nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a relatively low total compared to most other facilities. Lastly, our nursing ratings also consider quality-based measures, such as preventing major falls. Despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this place actually performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls. This is often an indicator that a place has sufficient quality controls in place. Many falls can be avoided if a nursing home provides enough nurses to assist its patients.

Short-term Care Quality
The third area we looked at was short-term care, where this facility was given a grade of B- in this category. In our short-term care grade, we endeavor to create a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we analyze a facility's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. In this nursing home's case, we were surprised to learn that it actually provides less physical therapist and registered nurse hours per patient than the typical facility. The final statistic we considered in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. This was more of a strength than its staffing metrics. It fared well in this metric with 61 percent of its patients returning home. This was a big boost to its score in this area.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we looked at was long-term care, where this nursing home was given a poor score in this area also. We gave it a lowly F in this area, which is definitely somewhat alarming. Nursing homes that don't score well in this category often do not provide as much nursing care and also may be lagging in some of the areas of routine personal care we assessed. One of the data points we considered on top of nursing hours is vaccinations. This facility administered the pneumonia vaccination to 93.25397 percent of its residents. Surprisingly, this facility actually fared well at keeping its patients out of the hospital. Indeed, it had just 1.2 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
