To go along with its favorable overall score, we awarded this facility an A for our inspections rating. Perhaps the most significant factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Places with better grades in this area most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving health risks or even death. This facility was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This means that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to create an imminent threat to patient health or safety. A few minor deficiencies are not something to panic about.

To complement its strong performance in other categories, we awarded this nursing home an B+ for our nursing rating. Our nursing score is largely tied to the nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Turning to the next category, this facility also earned a score of B for its long-term care rating. This is a well above average grade in this area. Nursing homes that receive this kind of grade in long-term care tend to provide consistent 24/7 care to make sure patients are kept in good health. After considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 99.35275 percent of its residents for pneumonia, which is much higher than the average nursing home. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it also excelled at keeping its patients out of the hospital. It had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.

The final area we rated is short-term care. This facility was awarded a B- in this area. With our short-term care category, we seek to forge a meaningful barometer for rehabilitation. In doing so, we assess a nursing home's levels of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as speech therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. However, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the number of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 4.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was actually well below the national average.
