Facility Inspections
This nursing home also earned an A+ inspection score, making it one of the few nursing homes to receive multiple A+'s in our category grades. This is based on the place's inspection reports. Our inspection ratings are tied to many datapoints found on the a nursing home's recent government inspections. Nursing homes that excel in this area have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility excelled in our nursing rating. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Our nursing grade assesses quite a few subcategories, however, the main one is the number of nurse hours per patient per week. This place provided 4.4 hours of nursing care per resident on a daily basis, which is among the better totals in the country. A significant portion of those hours were provided by registered nurses, which are one of the most highly skilled levels of nurses. We were really impressed by these statistics. On top of offering impressive levels of nursing care, this facility also excelled in several of the quality measures we looked at. With less than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any place the country in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
Turning to the fourth area, this facility also excelled in our short-term care category. In fact, we awarded it a grade of A- for that category. This wrapped up a straight A report card. Short-term care grades are commonly employed to grade a nursing home's performance with rehabilitation. In order to have highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally must have better levels of skilled nursing. These types of services include registered nurses, physical therapists, speech therapists and other types of therapists. One of this nursing home's strength is that it offers more hours of care from registered nurses to its residents. Lastly, we considered the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this nursing home. We found that 0 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.
