In addition to faring well overall, this nursing home also received a nearly flawless inspection report. Consequently, it earned one of our best grades in that category with an A+. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection grades is deficiencies. Deficiencies are found on a nursing home's inspection reports. Facilities with higher grades in this category most likely avoided the most severe deficiencies involving patient abuse or death. While this nursing home had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are found in categories G through L. This means the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

This rating is considered to be a meaningful measure of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not all nursing homes employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last item we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents who were able to leave the facility and return to the community. We discovered that 6.7 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Building on its remarkable assessment, this nursing home also received a strong long-term care score, with a score of A-. When facilities receive a grade in this range in long-term care it generally means it's well-staffed and is an overall good place to live on a permanent basis. After we finished looking at the volume of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination records. This nursing home vaccinated 93.98496 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is very impressive. Pneumonia sadly can be a life threatening condition for nursing home residents so we like it when a facility does not take any chances. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. Major falls can generally be prevented if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.
