Facility Inspections
On top of being a great facility overall, it also received A+ inspections recently. Its inspections are nearly perfect. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining these inspection grades. One of those factors is health deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some are quite insignificant. Although this nursing home had some deficiencies on its report, none of them were serious based on CMS' scale. Keep in mind that deficiency-free inspections are uncommon in this industry.
Long-term Care Quality
This facility performed well in the area of long-term care. Indeed, we awarded it a score of A- for that area, which turns out to be one of our highest grades. Long-term care scores of this caliber generally require both 24/7 care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine medical care. On top of considering the amount of care provided by aids and other staff, we also looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 97.623405 percent of its residents. Vaccines are vital to keeping patients healthy. Clearly, this nursing home is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.04 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

Skilled nursing means not merely nursing, but also physical and occupational therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not all facilities employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, according to the information they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Finally, we considered the percentage of residents that eventually returned home from this facility. We found that 5.6 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
Nurse Quality
The final area we assessed was nursing. In that area, we awarded this nursing home an acceptable grade of C. This is this facility's weakest area. Nursing ratings are based largely on quality and quantity of nursing care. This nursing home provided just 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is a low total compared with most other nursing homes. Finally, despite not having the highest total nursing hours per resident, this facility performed admirably in the area of preventing major falls.
