Facility Inspections
While we graded this facility incredibly poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent grade in that category with a score of B-. Inspection grades account for several factors found on a nursing home's inspection report. One key criteria we weigh heavily is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this was still a relatively positive report.
Nurse Quality
Turning to the area of nursing care, this facility received a grade of just D in this category. Unfortunately, this ended up being one of its better grades. Our nursing grade is based on the facility's nurse staffing levels. We look at both the levels of training of those nurses as well as the number of hours spent with patients. This nursing home averaged a meager 0.4 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in computing our nursing ratings. This facility fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.

Long-term Care Quality
This facility's second least favorable score is long-term care, where it received just a D in that area. This is a well below average grade. Nursing homes that do not fare well in long-term care typically are not as well-staffed and are lagging in a few of the areas of routine personal care we looked at. After we finished looking at the volume of nursing care, we next considered the facility's vaccination data. We were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home vaccinated just 72.06704 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this place was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.
Short-term Care Quality
The next category we assessed was short-term care. This nursing home was given an abysmal grade of F in this area. With our short-term care grade, we seek to craft a sound measure for rehabilitation. In doing so, we look at the facility's scope of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. With a grade this poor for this category, we were not shocked to learn that this place was below average in several staffing figures we looked at. In fact, it supplied significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. Finally, we considered the number of patients that were able to return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 3.2 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
