Registered Staff Hours
Short-term Care Quality
This facility's short-term care grade is notably more impressive than its overall grade. Due to a strong performance in this category, it received one of our better grades in that category with a grade of B+. In the category of short-term care, we strive to assess indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Unfortunately, it doesn't appear that this nursing home submitted information about its staffing of registered nurses or physical therapists. The last measure we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients that returned home from the nursing home. We found that 5.6 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
Facility Inspections
We also awarded this nursing home a grade of B- for our inspections rating. This is a very respectable nursing score. Inspection grades weigh several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we rely on is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. While this place had a few minor dings on its report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the inspectors did not consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple of minor deficiencies shouldn't lead you to cross a nursing home off your list.

Nurse Quality
We also gave this nursing home a decent score in the category of nursing care, with a grade of B-. Our nursing rating consists of a handful of factors, however, the primary consideration is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This place provides only 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a somewhat alarming figure which is well below the national average. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures. Although this place got dinged a bit for its nursing hours, it actually excelled in a few of these quality-based metrics. With fewer than five percent of its patients experiencing pressure ulcers, it fared remarkably well in this area. This is typically an indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by having a policy of turning a resident more frequently.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to our fourth area, this nursing home really did not perform very well. Due to a very poor grade of F in long-term care, this is its weakest area. For prospective residents seeking a permanent residence rather than skilled nursing, long-term care is an important category. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination record. We were optimistic to find that this nursing home vaccinates 98.93617 percent of its residents against pneumonia. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days. Sadly, a few of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
