We also want to emphasize that this nursing home excelled in our nursing grade. We gave them an A+ in this category. The nursing grade weighs many subcategories, but the most important one is the number of nurse hours spent with patients. This nursing home provides 0.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in terms of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.
Facility Inspections
This facility also received an A+ inspection score, making it one of the rare facilities to receive multiple A+'s in our categories. This score is based on the place's inspection reports. An A+ in this category is one of the highest complements we can pay to a nursing home. Inspection scores are tied to many datapoints found on the a nursing home's inspections. Nursing homes that excel in this category typically have very few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these places generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Although this nursing home had a few deficiencies on its report, none of them were severe based on CMS' deficiency scale. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

This nursing home vaccinated 89.3617 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is somewhat below what we anticipated but still a respectable figure. While its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, we were pleased to find facility was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
Short-term Care Quality
The final category we looked at is short-term care, where this facility was awarded a grade of A-. This topped off a first-rate profile. Very few nursing homes earned an A- or better in every category. With our short-term care rating, we strive to create a valuable measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the facility's levels of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this facility has registered nurses on staff. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, according to the data they provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last item we considered in this category is the percentage of residents that ultimately returned home from the nursing home. We found that 4.4 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
