With an address in Ellsworth, Maine, Seaport Village Healthcare is one of just a couple available nursing homes in the city. This proved to be an A+ facility. Receiving an A+ in our rating scheme requires first-rate marks across the board. You really can't do any better than this facility. Facility Inspections
On top of being a strong facility overall, it also received A+ government inspections recently. Its inspections were virtually perfect. Our inspection grades are based on datapoints located in the a nursing home's recent inspection reports. Places that excel in this area have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes should not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with endangerment of patients. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

This nursing home also was given an A+ for its short-term care score. In the area of short-term care, we strive to evaluate measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We look at a facility's skilled nursing services, including those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. This facility offered more physical therapist and registered nurse hours per resident than most facilities. Lastly, we looked at the percentage of residents who were able to return to the community from this facility. After looking at the very impressive nursing hours and other staffing provided by this nursing home, we then looked at the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 99.50495 percent of its residents against pneumonia, which is significantly higher than most nursing homes. Finally, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 1.37 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has fewer hospitalizations than most nursing homes.

In the final category, we gave this facility an A+ for its nursing score. This completed a very strong report card. Our nursing score is primarily tied to a nursing home's nurse staffing. This nursing home boasts a really impressive 4.4 hours of nursing care per resident each day, of which a significant percentage was provided by registered nurses. This is one of the most highly trained levels of nurses. This is one of the higher totals of nursing hours we found at any facility. On top of providing high levels of nursing care, this facility also excelled in several of the quality measures we assessed.
