Facility Inspections
In addition to being a great overall grade, this facility also received A+ health inspections in recent years. Its inspections were virtually flawless. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining our inspection scores. One of those factors is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the number of deficiencies, as some deficiencies end up being quite minor. Amazingly, this was one of the few nursing homes in the country that had no deficiencies whatsoever on its inspection report. This is very impressive. You really can not go wrong with a deficiency-free inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
This facility was given an impressive short-term care score as well. We awarded it one of our higher grades in that area with a score of B+. In the category of short-term care, we endeavor to evaluate measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. The last datapoint we considered in this area is the number of patients who were able to leave the facility and return home. We discovered that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Nurse Quality
Adding to its profile, this facility also earned a grade of B for its nursing rating. This is a well above average score in this category. There are quite a few factors included in this area. Many of these factors reflect the quantity of nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, we also assessed several nursing quality-based metrics and this nursing home excelled in some of these areas. With less than five percent of its residents sustaining pressure ulcers, it performed as well as any facility New Jersey in this category. This is generally a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can frequently be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by employing a system of turning a resident even once per day.
Long-term Care Quality
The next category we analyzed was this nursing home's worst area. However, even in its worst category we still awarded it a decent grade of C in long-term care. If you are looking for services other than short-term rehabilitation, you should take a close look at each nursing home's long-term care grades. One of the factors we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours was vaccines. Thankfully, this nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccine to 94.21965 percent of its patients. This place was able to keep its patients out of the hospital. In fact, it had only 0.01 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
