Facility Inspections
Although we did not rate this facility highly overall, we want to draw your attention to its nearly flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this category. Inspection scores weigh several factors included in a facility's inspection reports. One of the most important criteria we look at is the number and severity of deficiencies. You should avoid nursing homes with a bunch of severe deficiencies flagged. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this nursing home still received a relatively favorable inspection report.
Short-term Care Quality
In our next category, we gave this nursing home a rock-bottom F in the category of short-term care. In the category of short-term care, we attempt to qualify measures of a nursing home's rehabilitation. We assess a nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and various therapists. With its poor rating in this category, we were not stunned to find this facility offered significantly fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per patient than most other facilities. Lastly, we assessed the percentage of residents who ultimately were able to return home from this nursing home. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.5 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home. This figure was quite a bit off the national average.

Nurse Quality
Unfortunately, we gave this facility an F for its nursing grade. The nursing category includes a handful of components, most of which are tied to levels of nurse staffing. This facility provided just 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day. This is well below average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing grades. This facility fared well in terms of minimizing its residents' major falls and pressure ulcers.
Long-term Care Quality
Switching gears to our final area, this nursing home really didn't perform well in this category either. Due to an abysmal grade of F in long-term care, this is just about as as uninspiring as it gets. In a long-term care environment, the nursing home's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. Once we finished looking at the volume of nursing care, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. We were pleased to find that this nursing home vaccinated 94.2959 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has less hospitalizations than the average nursing home. Unfortunately, a few of its other scores in the category weren't as favorable as these.
