Inspection ratings are tied to many items found on the a nursing home's recent inspections. Places that excel in this category have few deficiencies on those reports. Most importantly, these facilities generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. This particular nursing home received 2 deficiencies on its inspection report. Overall, this is still a good inspection report, but we'd always recommend looking into any deficiencies you find troubling.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Turning the page to our next category, this nursing home was awarded first-rate short-term care grade. In fact, we gave it a grade of A- in that area. Our short-term care ratings are probably more meaningful for people needing rehabilitation services. Rehabilitation generally mandates more highly-skilled nursing. This includes not merely nursing, but also physical and respiratory therapy, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. We found that 5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

In the final category we assessed, this facility received a very strong grade of B+ in our long-term care category. With this score, the nursing home completed a very favorable profile. Facilities that excel in long-term care tend to provide residents with better supervision and stay on top of routine medical care. Once we assessed the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia. Vaccines are vital to keeping residents out of the hospital. Finally, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. It had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
