Facility Inspections

Grade: A-plus

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this nursing home earned near flawless health inspections in recent years. We awarded them an impressive grade of A+ in this area. These inspection ratings weigh several factors, including deficiencies, substantiated complaints and federal fines. You can find more information about each of these factors by reviewing copies of nursing homes' inspection reports. This place was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be major deficiencies. This means that the inspectors did not deem any of the deficiencies to pose an imminent threat to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.

Long-term Care Quality

Grade: A-minus

Contributing to its fine profile, this facility also was given an excellent long-term care grade, with a grade of A-. Facilities that receive this type of score in long-term care typically provide consistent around the clock care to make sure patients are kept in good health. One of the statistics we considered after nurse's aid hours is vaccines. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to 73.71795 percent of its residents. Although its vaccination rate was a bit lower than we hoped for, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.

Nurse Quality

Grade: B-plus

Another strong feature for this facility is that it received an impressive nursing grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of B+. Nursing scores are based in large part on quality and quantity of nursing care. This nursing home averages 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well when it comes to avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality

Grade: B-plus

The final category we rated was short-term care, where this facility received a grade of B+. This rounded out a very strong report card. Only a select few nursing homes earned a B+ or better in every category. In the area of short-term care, we try to qualify measures of a facility's rehabilitation. We assess the facility's skilled nursing services, including the ones performed by registered nurses and physical and occupational therapists. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the information this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The final statistic we looked at in this area is the percentage of residents that who were able to eventually return home from the nursing home. We found that 4.9 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home as opposed to remaining at the facility on a permanent basis.
