One of the other reasons we graded this nursing home so well is that it received a favorable short-term care grade. Indeed, short-term care turned out to be its second highest category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of A. With our short-term care grade, we seek to forge a fair gauge for rehabilitation. In this process, we look at the nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. This place excelled in the two key staffing areas we looked at. It provided more care from registered nurses and physical therapists than the typical nursing home. The final statistic we looked at in this category is the percentage of patients who were able to leave the nursing home and return to the community. We found that it fared as well as just about any facility in Utah in this area with 63.3 percent of its residents returning home.
