Short-term Care Quality

Grade: A

To go along with its strong overall score, we awarded this facility a grade of A for short-term care. Short-term care scores are crucial for individuals looking for rehabilitation. Rehabilitation generally utilizes additional highly-skilled nursing services. This means a broad scope of services, ranging from registered nurses to physical and speech therapists, as well as other variations of therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these types of nurses. However, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Finally, we looked at the number of residents who were able to return home from this facility. We found that 6.4 percent of this nursing home's residents were able to return home.

Facility Inspections

Grade: A

Adding to its impressive category grades, we awarded this nursing home a grade of A for our inspections rating. Our inspection ratings are based on many pieces of information found on the a nursing home's inspection reports. Nursing homes that score well in this area have few deficiencies on their reports. Most importantly, these nursing homes generally do not have any severe deficiencies which are associated with risks to patient safety. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its government inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This means that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A couple minor dings are not something to panic about.

Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can frequently be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

This nursing home provided the vaccine to 100 percent of its patients. Surprisingly, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home had fewer hospitalizations than many nursing homes. Sadly, some of its other scores in the category were not as favorable as these.
