Facility Inspections
Although we graded this place incredibly poorly overall, it earned a relatively impressive inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our more favorable grades in that area with a B. Arguably the most critical factor we look at in determining our inspection scores is deficiencies. These deficiencies can be found on a nursing home's recent inspection reports. It is generally best to avoid places that had too many deficiencies. Fortunately, although this facility had some minor dings on its inspection report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones found in categories G through L. This tells you that the inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. A few minor deficiencies are not the end of the world.
Long-term Care Quality
Included in this nursing home's several poor grades was its F in the area of long-term care. When facilities receive a score in this range in this category it generally means the facility did not perform well in our quality measures relating to resident care. On top of assessing the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we looked at the number of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. As it turns out, this facility provided the vaccine to just 11.009174 percent of its residents, which is several points lower than we expected. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With only 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this facility has less hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best feature in this category.

Short-term Care Quality
Tragically, this facility received an F for its short-term care grade. In the area of short-term care, we seek to qualify indicators of a facility's rehabilitation services. We analyze the facility's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses and physical therapists. Given its score in this area, we weren't surprised to discover that this place was well below average in terms of the quantity of registered nurse and physical therapy hours offered to its residents based on the data we assessed. Honestly, this was what we expected here. Finally, we assessed the number of residents who eventually returned home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 0 percent of this facility's residents were able to return home.
Nurse Quality
Moving on to the final area, this facility really didn't fare very well in this category either. With a poor grade of F in nursing, this is about as bad as it gets. When determining our nursing ratings, we analyze both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of the nurses. This nursing home provides 0.3 hours of nursing care per resident per day. This is a much lower figure than we are used to seeing. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing ratings. This facility fared well when it comes to minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls.
