Facility Inspections
On top of being a first rate facility overall, this place also performed well in the area of inspections, where it received an A. Not many nursing homes performed better in this area. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection grades. One key factor is deficiencies. It should be noted that the severity of the deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the number of deficiencies, as some of these are quite insignificant. This facility received 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but we were relieved to see that none were considered to be severe deficiencies. This indicates that the government inspectors did not consider any of these deficiencies an immediate threat to resident health or safety. We should note that deficiency-free inspection reports are uncommon in the industry.
Nurse Quality
This nursing home also received a very impressive nursing grade. In fact, this turned out to be its second best category grade. In that area, we awarded this facility a grade of A-. Nursing grades are largely associated with a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in determining our nursing grades. This place performed very well in the area of avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
Contributing to its fine resume, this nursing home also was awarded a dominant short-term care score, with a grade of A-. With our short-term care grade, we attempt to create a valuable measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the nursing home's level of highly-skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as occupational therapy. Fortunately, it appear that this facility employs registered nurses. Not every nursing home employs these types of nurses. On the other hand, based on the information they provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. Lastly, we assessed the number of patients that ultimately returned home from this nursing home. We found that 5.1 percent of this facility's residents returned home.
Long-term Care Quality
The last category we analyzed is long-term care, where this facility was given a B+. This topped off a very strong report card. Only a select few facilities received a B+ or better in each of our categories. Facilities that do well in long-term care tend to provide patients with better supervision and stay on top of routine healthcare services. One of the statistics we considered after nursing hours was vaccines. This nursing home administered the pneumonia vaccination to 100 percent of its patients. Vaccination is a great way to avoid unnecessary deaths for the elderly population. Lastly, this place was able to limit hospitalizations. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low number.
