In addition to being a quality nursing home overall, this nursing home excelled in our inspections category, where it earned an A. Few facilities performed better in this area. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in computing our inspection ratings. One of those factors is health deficiencies. With less than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it fared well in this metric. This is often a good indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by offering better nursing care, such as having a system of turning a patient even once per day.

The final category we looked at was long-term care. This facility was awarded a grade of B- in the category. In forming these long-term care grades, we quantify the nursing home's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. After considering the volume of care provided by nurses and other staff, we turned to the facility's vaccination data. This facility vaccinated 100 percent of its patients against pneumonia, which is more than the average nursing home. This place was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
