Facility Inspections
In addition to being a great nursing home overall, it also received A+ government inspections recently. Its inspections were virtually flawless. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in determining these inspection grades. One key factor is health deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is usually more important than the quantity of deficiencies, as some end up being relatively minor. This place was hit with 3 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none of the deficiencies were considered to be major deficiencies. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies to be an imminent risk to resident safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
One of the other reasons we rated this nursing home so highly is that it earned a very impressive nursing score. In that area, we gave this facility an A. Our nursing rating is primarily associated with a facility's nurse staffing. This nursing home provides 0.5 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed well in this area. Avoiding major falls is typically a good indicator that a facility has reliable quality controls in place. Major falls can often be avoided if more nurses aids and better safety protocols are in place.

Short-term Care Quality
This facility also was given a first-rate short-term care score. This actually turned out to be its third best category grade. In that category, we awarded this facility a grade of A. In the area of short-term care, we strive to evaluate indicators of a nursing home's rehabilitation services. We assess the facility's skilled nursing services, such as the ones performed by registered nurses and various therapists. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home has registered nurses on staff. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. On the other hand, based on the data this nursing home provided, they do not appear to employ physical therapists. The last metric we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from the facility. We found that 5.5 percent of this nursing home's residents returned home as opposed to remaining at the nursing home on a permanent basis.
Long-term Care Quality
The fourth area we graded was long-term care, where this nursing home was given a grade of A. This completed an elite profile. Few nursing homes received an A- or better in every category. For long-term care residents, the nursing home's primary goal is to maintain residents' quality of life and keep them safe. One of the statistics we considered in addition to nurse's aid hours is vaccinations. This nursing home provided the pneumonia vaccine to 92.77108 percent of its patients. Lastly, this facility was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had only 0 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is an impressively low number.
