Facility Inspections
Adding to this nursing home's impressive resume, we gave this facility an A for inspections. We weigh several aspects of a nursing home's inspection report in computing these inspection grades. One key factor is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of these deficiencies is arguably more important than the number of deficiencies, as some are relatively minor. Fortunately, although this place had some minor dings on its report, it had zero severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are ones labeled as categories G, H, I, J, K and L. This tells you that the government inspectors didn't consider any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient safety or health. Finally, this facility had no substantiated complaints this year from residents, which is an excellent sign.
Nurse Quality
This facility also excelled in the area of nursing, where it received a grade of A-. Few nursing homes performed better in this area. Our nursing score is largely tied to a facility's level of nurse staffing. This facility provided 4.8 hours of nursing care per resident daily. This was one of the highest totals we found. Furthermore, a significant portion of this care was provided by registered nurses, which are highly skilled nurses. These are both really impressive figures. On top of providing impressive levels of care, this facility also fared well in several of the quality-based metrics we assessed. Short-term Care Quality
Moving on to our next category, this facility also excelled in our short-term care category. We gave it a grade of A- for that category. This finalized truly elite profile. In our short-term care grade, we try to create a valuable measure for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we assess the nursing home's scope of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. Remarkably, this place provides about 50% more hours of services from registered nurses and physical therapists than most facilities we looked at. This is usually an encouraging sign. Lastly, we looked at the number of patients who were able to return to the community from this facility. We found that 41.1 percent of this facility's patients returned home.
