Registered Staff Hours
Nurse Quality
While we graded this facility extremely poorly overall, it received a fairly respectable nursing score this year. We gave it a B- in this area. In computing our nursing grades, we assess both nursing hours and the levels of licensure of those nurses. This nursing home provides only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient daily. This is a somewhat uninspiring figure which is well below the national average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures. Although this nursing home got docked a bit for nursing hours per resident, it actually excelled in some of these quality metrics. With less than five percent of its residents suffering from pressure ulcers, it fared well in this subcategory. This can be an indicator of quality nursing care. Pressure ulcers can typically be prevented by providing better nursing care, such as by having a policy of turning patients more frequently.
Short-term Care Quality
Remarkably, we gave this facility a grade of B- for its short-term care grade, which is not a bad grade. In our short-term care assessment, we attempt to forge a fair barometer for rehabilitation services. In doing so, we analyze the nursing home's offerings of skilled nursing services, including both registered nurses and physical therapy, as well as respiratory therapy. We were surprised to find that this place was below average in the two key staffing areas we looked at. The facility offered fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most other nursing homes. The final metric we looked at in this area is the percentage of patients who were able to return home from the facility. We found that just 0 percent of this nursing home's patients returned home.

Facility Inspections
This nursing home received an F for its inspection rating. We would advise paying close attention to any deficiencies on a facility's inspection reports when it receives this poor of an inspection grade. We would scrutinize the severity of the deficiencies. This nursing home was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report. The only positive thing we can say is that none of its deficiencies were in the categories that indicate that they created a risk to resident health or safety. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.
Long-term Care Quality
The next area we analyzed is long-term care, in which this facility received a bottom of the barrel grade here as well. It received a lowly F in this category, which is definitely a major disappointment. When nursing homes receive a score in this range in long-term care it typically means the facility did not perform well in our quality measures relating to patient care. After considering the volume of care provided by aids and other staff, we then analyzed the nursing home's vaccination statistics. Unfortunately, this facility vaccinated only 86.38298 percent of its residents for pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility was actually able to limit hospitalizations. With just 0.01 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this nursing home has fewer hospitalizations than the majority of nursing homes. This was its best score in this category.
