Facility Inspections
While we graded this nursing home incredibly poorly overall, it actually earned a very impressive government inspection report this year. As a result, it received one of our better grades in that area with a B+. Inspection ratings account for several factors found on a facility's inspection report. One of the most important criteria we look at is the quantity and severity of deficiencies. You should avoid nursing homes with too many deficiencies flagged. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Despite this deficiency, this was still a relatively favorable report.
Nurse Quality
We gave this facility a grade of just D for our nursing rating and that actually turned out to be its second highest score. Nursing scores are mostly based on the nursing home's level of nurse staffing. With only 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient each day, this place's nurse staffing levels were well below the national average. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing scores. This place fared well when it comes to avoiding major falls and pressure ulcers. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Short-term Care Quality
We awarded this facility just a D for our short-term care rating. This is not an impressive grade. In calculating our short-term care ratings, we analyze a nursing home's levels of skilled nursing, which includes registered nurses, physical therapists occupational therapists and other highly trained professionals. This category is generally a reliable measure of the facility's ability to rehabilitate patients. With a grade this poor in this category, we weren't stunned to discover this nursing home was below average in multiple staffing figures we focus on. The facility supplied far fewer registered nurse and physical therapist hours per resident than most facilities. Finally, we assessed the percentage of patients that who were able to eventually return home from this nursing home. This nursing home didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.7 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
Long-term Care Quality
The last area we rated was long-term care. This facility was given a very poor grade of F in that area. Nursing homes that receive this type of grade in this category likely don't provide the type of consistent 24/7 care that some other facilities offer. Once we assessed the amount of care provided by nurses, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination data. Candidly, we were a bit bothered by the fact that this nursing home vaccinated only 74.65116 percent of its patients against pneumonia. To our surprise, this facility actually fared well at keeping its residents out of the hospital. Indeed, it had only 0.02 hospitalizations per one thousand long-term resident days. This is its best feature in this category.
