While we did not have many favorable things to say about this nursing home's overall score, it did receive a somewhat respectable inspection report this year. As a result, it received a decent score in that area with a B-. We would argue that one of the most important factors in assessing an inspection report is deficiencies. We especially focus on the severity of those deficiencies. This place was hit with 2 deficiencies on its inspection report, but fortunately none were considered to be major deficiencies. This indicates that CMS didn't consider any of the deficiencies an immediate threat to resident safety or health. Lastly, this nursing home was cited by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. This is generally a really bad sign. We would never recommend this facility.

This nursing home actually received a decent grade in the area of nursing as well. We awarded it a grade of B- for that category, which is not a bad score. Our nursing score is based on the facility's level of nurse staffing. We weigh both the levels of training of the nurses as well as the amount of time spent with patients. Based on the CMS data, this nursing home offers 3.6 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Finally, our nursing grades also factor in quality-based assessments, such as avoiding major falls. This place performed admirably in this area.

The next highest area we gave this facility in any area came in the area of short-term care, where we awarded it a B-. Our short-term care grade is typically used to judge a facility's performance with rehabilitation To offer highly scored rehabilitation services, nursing homes generally need to feature better levels of skilled nursing services. Skilled nursing includes registered nurses, physical therapists, occupational therapists and other types of therapists. This nursing home elevated its grade in this category by offering more care from registered nurses to its residents than the average facility. The final measure we assessed in this area is the number of patients who eventually returned home from the nursing home. This place fared well in this metric with 70.8 percent of its patients returning home.

The next area we analyzed is long-term care. We gave this nursing home a B- in this category. In forming these long-term care grades, we look at the facility's ability to maintain its permanent residents' health and quality of life. On top of looking at the amount of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated against pneumonia. This nursing home provided the vaccine to 96.38989 percent of its patients, which is better than the majority of nursing homes. Finally, we looked at the nursing home's number of hospitalizations. With 1.94 hospitalizations per 1,000 long-term resident days, this place was not too far off the national average.
