Although we gave this facility a terrible overall grade, we awarded it a B- for our inspections rating. In fact, the facility received very impressive inspection report this year. Our inspection ratings weigh several factors found on a facility's inspection reports. One key criteria we consider is the number and severity of deficiencies. Fortunately, although this place had a few minor dings on its inspection report, it had no severe deficiencies. Severe deficiencies are labeled as categories G through L. This means the government inspectors didn't deem any of the deficiencies on this facility's report to pose an imminent threat to patient health or safety. Lastly, this facility was flagged by CMS for possible abuse or neglect. We prefer to avoid facilities with this designation. Please do your best to find an alternative nursing home.

Remarkably, we awarded this facility a B- for our long-term care score, which isn't a bad grade. Our long-term care scores are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of nursing services. This includes a vast range of personal care services, ranging from assistance with activities of daily living to routine healthcare services. After we finished assessing the quantity of nursing care, we turned to the nursing home's vaccination statistics. Frankly, we were a bit alarmed this facility vaccinated just 51.232876 percent of its residents for pneumonia. Fortunately, this nursing home was able to limit hospitalizations. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per one thousand long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.

We also wanted to point out that this nursing home received an F for its nursing grade. In computing our nursing ratings, we analyze both the number of hours nurses spend with residents and the skill levels of those nurses. This nursing home provided a meager 0.3 hours of nursing care per patient on a daily basis. This is not a very impressive figure. Lastly, we also looked at some nursing quality measures in calculating our nursing ratings. This nursing home fared well in the area of minimizing its residents' pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these metrics to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

Moving on to the final area, this facility really did not perform very well in this category either. With a rock bottom grade of F in short-term care, this is about as terrible as it gets. In computing our short-term care grades, we assess the nursing home's skilled nursing services, such as those performed by registered nurses, occupational therapists, physical therapists and other types of skilled professionals. Our objective is to devise a barometer for comparing the rehabilitation services of different facilities. Based on its score in this area, we weren't stunned to discover that this place is well below average in terms of the quantity of physical therapy and registered nurse hours offered to its residents based on the metrics we looked at. Honestly, this was what we expected here. Finally, we looked at the percentage of residents who ultimately returned home from this facility. This facility didn't fare well here either. In fact, we found that just 4.5 percent of this facility's patients were able to return home.
