In addition to faring well in its overall grade, this facility received high marks in the area of short-term care as well. It received our highest grade in that category with a score of A+. Our short-term care grades are based in part on a nursing home's quantity of skilled highly skilled professionals. This includes a vast scope of nursing services, spanning from registered nurses to physical and respiratory therapists, in addition to other forms of therapy. Fortunately, it looks like this nursing home employs registered nurses. Not every facility employs these skilled professionals. However, according to the data this nursing home provided, it does not look like the facility employs physical therapists. Lastly, we looked at the number of residents that returned home from this nursing home. We found that 6.7 percent of this facility's patients returned home.

Adding to its impressive category grades, this nursing home also excelled in the category of inspections, where it received an A. We take several aspects of a facility's inspection report into consideration in determining our inspection scores. One of those factors is deficiencies. You should keep in mind that the severity of deficiencies is arguably more meaningful than the quantity of deficiencies, as some of these end up being relatively minor. This particular nursing home had just a single deficiency on its inspection report and it was not one deemed to pose a threat to patient health or safety. Even some of the best nursing homes receive an occasional ding on their inspection report.

We also wanted to emphasize the fact that this facility received an impressive grade of A in our nursing category. Our nursing grade includes a variety of subcategories. The most important variable is the amount of time nurses spend with patients. This nursing home provides 0.4 hours of nursing care per resident per day. Lastly, we also assessed some nursing quality-based metrics in determining our nursing grades. This facility performed very well in terms of avoiding pressure ulcers and major falls. We consider these areas to be good indicators of the quality of nursing care.

The next category we looked at is long-term care. This nursing home was awarded a favorable nursing grade in our assessment, with a grade of B. While this isn't nearly as strong as several of its other scores, this remains one of our more favorable grades for that category. Long-term care scores in this range generally require both around the clock care from nurses and aids, as well as quality routine healthcare services. In addition to assessing the quantity of care provided by nurses and other staff, we looked at the percentage of residents vaccinated for pneumonia. This nursing home administered the vaccine to 89.53488 percent of its patients, which is slightly below what we were hoping for. Clearly, this place is doing something right in this area as it was able to keep its residents out of the hospital. In fact, it had less than one hospitalization per 1,000 long-term resident days, which is a remarkably low figure.
